Marshmallow

Althaea sp.

This is a rather hairy shrub, with erect stems, which can reach a height of approximately 2.5 m (8 ft). Its leaves are rounded-heart-shaped and toothed. Flowers are pale-pink, with a yellowish center.

It is a very common plant, which grows in abundance on roadsides, dry places and fallow land. The specimen depicted here was photographed in an unkempt olive grove, just outside Horton.

I haven't been able to identify this plant to species level, your help would, therefore, be more than appreciated. Kindly forward suggestions to Anthony.
